Enigma

Megan’s inspiration for this piece was derived from a watercolor painted by Jim Worster. Megan explored her thoughts about his painting while she created “Enigma”.

In Jim’s watercolor, he painted a figure that sits in the corner of a room with legs crossed underneath and face covered by a red hat. Megan has always been intrigued by the strong emotional riddle within Jim’s painting. He was an artist friend of her husband who bought Jim’s painting several years ago.

Jim’s art has always remained a mystery to me. Why does the figure hide his face? What are his thoughts? Is he ok? In my piece, I painted a similar pose so I could empathize with the mysterious figure and try to understand the artist’s thoughts.
