“Helen’s Garden No.1 and 2” are monoprints that utilize burlap to create abstract shapes, showcasing an intricate blend of texture and form. Influenced by the innovative techniques of Helen Frankenthaler, these prints reflect a deep appreciation for her pioneering spirit in abstract art. Frankenthaler, one of the first abstract artists to capture my interest, captivated me with her unconventional method of leaving raw areas in her work and her bold defiance of societal norms in art. The prints were meticulously crafted using Akua Inks and hand pressing techniques, and they can be appreciated either as individual pieces or as a complementary pair.
