Sirius

In my monoprint “Sirius,” I explore the weight of societal pressures, grief, and despair that women often feel when their voices are marginalized or when they lack representation in critical decisions. The large dark void symbolizes the overwhelming challenges they face or the emptiness left by voices that go unheard.

Voting becomes a means of pushing back against that darkness, of stepping forward rather than retreating. It transforms the grief or sense of helplessness into action and empowerment, filling the void with the light of collective voices and shared power. I hoped to create a reminder of the importance of not allowing grief or despair to silence participation, but rather as a call to use the vote to reclaim agency and influence in the face of challenges.
