Schwinn Meteor II (SOLD)

Megan’s original Schwinn Meteor with flowers oil pastel on burlap artwork, Schwinn Meteor II, features a classic early 1950’s Schwinn discovered by accident while stopping for coffee in ‘old town’ Salida, Colorado. While walking along the street, the Schwinn Meteor screamed for our attention from a window display at a women’s boutique clothing store. Our impromtu decision to drive 5 miles from the highway into old town Salida lead to a fortunate discovery on our road trip home from a weekend racing bicycles and camping in Gunnison, Colorado.

The Schwinn Meteor bicycle provides a beautifully complimentary display of a basket of African Daisy flowers on the heavy-duty rear rack. The stretched burlap canvas includes Cafe, Clean Coffee, Product of Guatemala, and The Coffee Source graphic elements.

Megan donated the first Schwinn Meteor oil pastel on burlap artwork – unframed –  to the 2014 Spring Benefit Auction benefitting Transportation Alternatives in Brooklynn, New York. Schwinn Meteor II includes further refinements of the layered templates from hand-cut stencils and hand-applied oil pastel to the formidable burlap canvas.  Schwinn Meteor II was one of the first fine artworks in the Coffee Art Print by Megan Morgan collection to utilize a solid wood-panel base to stretch the burlap canvas.
